Medicine in Egypt and Mesopotamia then attract the attention of the European scholar. India, China and Arabia come next. Greece and Rome are considered a little later. Then come the early Christian era from 1 A.D. to 500 A.D., the Middle Ages from 500 A.D. to 1500 A.D. and lastly the modem era from 1500 A.D. All the periods have got their rituals and ideologies maturing ultimately into the present-day nursing servicc which is both a service and a mission.
